You can enjoy comics, films, and science fiction without paying high prices or waiting in long lines.The San Diego Comic Fest offers a diverse and extensive program that will appeal to all fans. There will be many of the usual features of a comic-con: panel discussions, guest programs, tabletop gaming, cosplay, steampunk, an exhibitor's hall with all your favorite comics and books, toys and collectibles, etc. The Comic Fest was founded in 1969 by a small group of comics dealers in San Diego. Mike Towry, then a teenager, was one of those fans. In 2009, after the 40th Comic-Con, Towry and other Comic-Con veterans decided that San Diego should have a second convention reminiscent of early Comic-Cons. San Diego Comic Fest, a convention reminiscent of the early Comic-Cons, was created in 2012. Please note that San Diego Comic Fest has no affiliation with Comic-Con International. San Diego Comic Fest, a convention created by fans for other fans, is sure to delight. The all-volunteer Comic Con is a tribe gathering where every fan plays a role in creating an unforgettable experience for all.
